Day trip to Newport, OR

How to get the most out of your day trip!

24 HOURS IN NEWPORT, OREGON

The small town of Newport, Oregon is full of exciting things to do for both locals and tourists who are visiting the Oregon Coast. Whether you are looking for all the best food spots, some fun adventures, or just a chill beach day, Newport offers it all.

Here is how I spent my day in Newport, OR:

  1. Coasties Roasties

I don’t know about you, but I start every morning with coffee!

When I stumbled across this cute local coffee shop I had to stop and see what it was all about. They offer almost every coffee drink you could imagine with some fun drink options around the holiday seasons. I got an iced oat milk latte and have to say it was delicious!

They also offer plenty of pastry and breakfast options, so if you’re looking for a breakfast spot this is the place to stop.

They even recently won “Best local coffee shop and Best place to get a coffee” in Lincoln County!

  1. NYE Beach

This is my go-to beach spot when stopping in Newport, OR!

They have the cutest little downtown area filled with local restaurants, small boutiques, and lots of fun little spots to check out just a few blocks away from the beach.

This beach is pet friendly and perfect to spend the day with the family, play around when the weather is warm, and watch some of the prettiest sunsets.

  1. Yaquina Head Lighthouse

The Yaquina Head Lighthouse, located at Yaquina Head, is a lighthouse you’ll want to check out while you’re in Newport. This 93-foot lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in Oregon and is one of the oldest structures in the city.

This spot also has some of the most beautiful views of the ocean to take in while you are there.

4. Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum

This museum is jam-packed with weird, silly, and fun facts you won’t believe! The exhibit is great fun for the entire family and is one of the best ways to spend an afternoon in Newport.

Located right next to the museum, is the wax museum where you can go through interactive exhibits and take pictures with your favorite celebrities’ wax figures. They have Taylor Swift, Star Wars Characters, and plenty more!

5. ClearWater

Just a short walk over from the Ripley’s Believe it or not Museum, this is the perfect place to eat as they have everything from seafood to burgers, there is something to please everyone!

I got the pesto chicken burger on a gluten free bun (yes, they offer gluten free options!) and it was so good, I need to go back for another asap.

This restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating with the most beautiful views of the water and sea lions nearby to make for such a fun dining experience.
